Brief Bios:

Bethroot Gwynn

Bethroot Gwynn is a poet, theaterwoman, and a longtime editor of the We'Moon Datebook.  Her performance pieces have celebrated lesbian feminism and Goddess spirituality at conferences, festivals and other venues.

Her poetry and essays have been published in Sinister Wisdom, The Poetry of Sex and other publications, and are featured regularly in We'Moon: Gaia Rhythms for Women.

 

 

 Christine C. Menefee

Christine worked in public libraries, and writing projects (large or small, at work or at home) have always been present in her life. For many years she reviewed books in a monthly library journal, with the occasional feature article in library, feminist, and science fiction publications, and compiled an index for the ten-year run of WomanSpirit Magazine.

Living in Ashland, Oregon she has been blogging book, film and theater reviews and other commentary, and is currently venturing into memoir writing. She feels very fortunate to be part of the Southern Oregon Women's Writers Group, Gourmet Eating Society and Chorus.

Cynthia Rucryst  (Cynthia Mitchell/Rucryst)

Cyndi is a published writer, a poet and essay writer.  Her passion is writing and she has been putting pen to paper all her life!   Cyndi loves to play with words, to make them more meaningful or insightful, as well as to bring out the humor in them ...  to squeeze the juice out of them and see where it lands on the page.

Cyndi is currently doing a screenplay of her book, bringing to fruition the whole reason for writing the book.

H. Ní Aódagaín



H. Ní Aódagaín has been writing and publishing fiction, essays and poetry for the past twenty-five years. Her writings, which explore feminism, aging, spirituality, and land-based living, have been published both regionally and nationally. Ní Aódagaín's writings have appeared in Woman of Power, Home Education Magazine, Midwifery Today, The We'Moon Almanac, and most recently, the anthology, From the Heart of the Applegate.
She is seeking publication of her debut novel, If Not for the Silence, which explores the silences we live with, and how those silences frame our choices and our destiny.

helen laurence

Helen Laurence lives on women’s land in Oregon, Rainbow’s End, where she grows friendship, food, and writing, entranced by nature in all her guises. She has been writing, teaching and publishing for more than forty years. 

Helen's writing explores themes relating to women, gender, nature, spirit, and life on shared land, and includes poetry, journals, memoir, essays, short fiction, and works for children. 

Currently Helen is focused on compiling her life’s work to form multi-genre narratives, including art work and photography. 


MaryAnn Shank 

MaryAnn writes poetry as an avocation, choosing themes on love and the magic of our world.  In real life she writes for blogs on creative businesses for women, and has a fun site about lesbian poets.

MaryAnn's most recent project is Mystical Land of Myrrh, a montage of stories set in Somalia, an historical fiction drawn from her Peace Corps tour from 1967 to 1969.  It is presently seeking a publisher.

 Tangren Alexander
Dr. Tangren Alexander (b.1940) is a retired professor of philosophy and women’s studies, and was head of the Philosophy program, spanning from 1974 to 2006 at Southern Oregon University (SOU), in Ashland, Oregon. Dr. Alexander was the first woman to receive a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Oregon.

She is published in Teaching Philosophy, Hypatia: The Journal of Feminist PhilosophySinister WisdomWomanSpirit MagazineThe Encyclopedia of Women in World History, and in the anthologies, Adventures in Lesbian Philosophy, Claudia Card, ed., and Our Lives: Lesbian Personal Writing, Frances Rooney, ed.  

Tangren was a frequent contributor to WomanSpirit Magazine, and is part of the creative women’s community in Southern Oregon. As “Pearl Time’sChild,” she is the author of short stories in Tee Corrine's erotic anthologies: Intricate Passions, Riding Desire, and The Body of Love.  

Tangren is a philosopher who believes in dolls. Her current work involves a move to visual language, in her doll photographs done with a feminist sensibility. One slideshow, “Selene,” Z. Budapest’s story of a girl who becomes a bull-leaper in ancient Crete, as enacted by Barbies and Skippers, was shown at an international meeting of women philosophers.

Her other current philosophical interests include 17th Century European Philosophy (Queen Christina of Sweden, especially), dreams, magic and philosophy, and ethics.
